Mech IDeas

Piston is a third-party Transformer homage to the Decepticon Triggercon character Crankcase.

This Piston is unrelated to either of the IDW Publishing comic-only Transformers characters named Piston. The first Piston was an Autobot who appeared in Spotlight: Blurr, while the second was a member of the Wreckers in Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye #7.

Development

Mach 5 first displayed renders of Piston on their Facebook page in May 2013.[1] Later than month they went up for preorder on Big Bad Toy Store.

The Gauntlet and Piston were canceled by Mach 5, but eventually the project was picked up by Mech IDeas.

The first color toy images of Gauntlet and Piston appeared online in April 2014.

Gauntlet and Piston were released in August 2014.
