Development
A silhouette of Despotron was debuted at the TFcon Toronto 2015 third-party panel.[1]
In December 2015 Maketoys released line art of Despotron.
Maketoys released artwork and a biography for Despotron in May 2016.
Maketoys released artwork and a biography for Rioter Despotron in July 2016.
The Striker Manus toy came with an alternate reality token card for Rioter Despotron.
Rioter Despotron was among the toys featured in the third-party panel at TFNation in August 2016.[2]
Rioter Despotron was among the unreleased third-party Transformer toys on display at TFNation in August 2016.[3]
Despotron was released in September 2016.
Reception
The Retro Robot Radio podcast for February 7th, 2016 discussed Maketoys Despotron, Howling Meteor and Wrestle in the news.[4]
