Octopunch is the name of two fictional characters from the Transformers series. The first was introduced in 1989 as a Decepticon Pretender who turned into a mechanical crab. The second was a featured character at Botcon 2012.

Fictional biography
The terror of the deep. If he's not stealing sunken treasure or ancient artifacts, he amuses himself by smashing holes in submarines and cruise ships. Electrically-charged, razor-tipped harpoon gun momentarily short-circuits on contact. Also armed with vice-like tentacles that stick to any surface. So strong underwater that he can wrestle a whale to a standstill. Inner robot convers to metal-rending crab creature equipped with depth gauges, deep-sea radar and acetylene torch gun.
Marvel Comics
Octopunch appears first in the Marvel UK comics as part of the 'Mayhem Attack Squad'. They encounter the Dinobots. [2] He appears several issues later, where the Squad's activities are put on hold when they are distracted by the National Guard. [3] Later, an incident causes Ocotpunch to fire a shot which wakes up the entity known as Primus; his panicked reaction wakens the planet eating Unicron. [4] The character also appears in "Transformers" #71 - "Surrender!" (October 1990).[5]
Condor Verlag
In a story called "By their Blasters you shall know them ...!" from Transformers Comic-Magazin issue #12 by German comic publisher Condor Verlag Optimus Prime instructs Backstreet, Bumblebee and Ruckus on how to identify Autobots from Decepticons in battle using the Ark's computer. Octopunch is one of those he displays to the Autobots. This story identifies Octopunch as an Autobot.[6]
Mosaic
Octopunch appeared in the Transformers: Mosaic story "The Call" by Franco Villa.[7]
