The Deceptive Constructs are a third-party Transformer homage to the Transformers characters Hairsplitter and Singe.
They should not be confused with The Sinister Shooters, a completely different pair of figures released as a Captured Prey exclusive in 2013.
[1]Here is our display at TFCon Chicago. You can see our very limited second exclusive. If you missed the first Spinister set, you have a second chance. Since they are different, they can be your Needlenose set if you did get the last ones.
Development
The Deceptive Constructs were released in July 2014.
Mastershooter Collectibles offered the unsold stock of the Deceptive Constructs from their Facebook page in November 2014.
Reception
Fictional biography
It's no mystery why Bush Spreader and Burns Winopy would team up with a flying Deceptive Construct, even with their crippling fear of heights. They'd rather tough it out than admit their acrophobia. Their aerial comrad is very useful for penetrating enemy lines and getting them on the ground where they're much more effective. Bush Spreader is an expert at pounding his way through the bushiest wetlands. He may not be able to find his objective's precise location, but he's not one to split hairs. He'll hit the area so hard that the tiniest of buttons will be vibrated by the impact waves. After this initial destruction Burns Winopy comes in to make sure the encounter is never forgotten. He drops a napalm type virus that will have any surviving enemies feeling the singe for the rest of their circuit cycle.
