Md. Sahid Ahmed (Bengali:মো.সাহিদ আহমেদ ) a Bangladeshi Journalist, Social Activist, Traveler & internet personality Who is Mostly known as a Social Activist rather than Journalist. He was born in 1997 in Dhaka. He brought up Old Dhaka, Bangladesh and finished tutoring here. At the age of 18 he started his Journalism career. From his childhood, he was a bit philanthropic and led an exceptional life. Although he did not have much interest in education, he was philanthropic besides spending time with friends and playing sports. Sahid Joined the Bangladesh Scouts team as soon as he entered high school. He became more interested in human service because of scouting. In addition to cutting his father's pocket many times to stand by the poor and helpless people of the neighborhood, he also collected subscriptions with friends of the same age in the area to treat sick people and bury the bodies of helpless people.His passion was doing various self-service campaigns for free. Mother Majeda Begum moved with her son to Uttara, one of the model towns of the capital, as he was not paying attention to education due to running social activities.

Early Life & Education

Md. Sahid Ahmed was born in a respected Muslim family at Old Dhaka . On April 14, 1997, Sahid was born in Old Dhaka, Bangladesh. His father Md. Shahadat Hossain is an established businessman of Old Dhaka. Mother Majeda Begum is a housewife. He has two sisters. Sahid completed his primary schooling in old Dhaka Jurain Adarsha Government School. he studied in Jurain Ashraf master High school, studied in Uttarkhan Collegiate school, and he started studying in Uttara Public college , he also studied in Marketing (hons) at Sheikh Burhanuddin post graduate college.

Professional Biography

This field has attracted young and dynamic youth and one such name is Md. Sahid Ahmed. he started his journalism career in 2015. He has worked in online media including popular newspapers in Bangladesh. Currently, he is working as a senior sub-editor of Alo-Ava News24, a widely circulated newspaper in Bangladesh. He got involved with the journalism profession since 2015. In 2019, the world came to a standstill due to the emergence of the global epidemic Corona. On March 8, 2020, the first corona patient was detected in Bangladesh. The entire country came to a standstill in just a few days. On March 26, 2020, the government was forced to announce an indefinite lockdown in the country. When the entire country is in fear of an invisible enemy in a situation of stagnation. There are no people on the streets, it is as if people were suffering from emptiness around the busy city. Meanwhile, he joined a social organization, which voluntarily provided services to Corona suspected patients. Such as suffering from cold, fever but no one to see; There is no one to take to the hospital. The martyrs used to provide free ambulance service to them. Apart from providing ambulance service, this organization also took responsibility for corona test and hospital admission. Sahid did not finish his duties just by admitting. He was by the side for all the needs of the admitted patients. Even if a patient died, he bathed the body of that patient and performed the funeral and buried it. In the meantime, when he shared a video in front of Kurmitola General Hospital on his own Facebook about the helplessness of the hospital authorities and the cries of the deceased's relatives to warn the public, various tele media of the country rushed to it and it went viral instantly. Support of life-saving oxygen is increased by the government. Increases the quality of healthcare in the hospital. Here also the role of Sahid is immense. Meanwhile, he himself was in quarantine for 25 days with fever, chills and cough on suspicion of being Covid positive. After the emergence of covid 19 in the country, plasma therapy started to save covid patients in the discovery of medical science. Lockdown is eased, plasma crisis occurs everywhere. Seeing the need for plasma and encouraging young people recovering from Corona to donate plasma, Sahid Ahmed established the first plasma platform in Bangladesh called 'Plasma Bank of Bangladesh' Facebook group. Currently the group has over 2 lakh members. The group from which plasma and blood supply is being given continuously till now after screening. The voluntary organization 'Sangh Sahajjer Ek Angikar' awarded him with a certificate and a letter of appreciation for his contribution as a front-line fighter in Corona.

At the same time, Sahid is associated with several international social organizations which play a reliable role in building the society. Even those organizations are working on tech education, entrepreneurship, social innovation and youth development in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Sahid Ahmed has been appointed as the Bangladesh Ambassador of the International Global Network, a non-governmental social development organization in Indonesia. The institute is an organization engaged in youth development programs. Founded with the mission of bringing together youth from around the world to collaborate with each other in business, technology, culture and social movements. In addition, Sahid participated in the SDG Youth Summit with the participation of more than 400 selected youth from six countries including Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Nepal, India, Malaysia and Indonesia with the aim of contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2030 of the Bangladesh Government. He constantly strives to improve his skills and keep himself engaged in the service of the country and the nation. As a result of that, he voluntarily brought helpless patients in the ambulance, corona test, admission, oxygen service, hand sanitizer, distributed blankets among the air-conditioners in the country. In 2022, Md. Sahid Ahmed was associated with the distribution of daily essential food, medical supplies, pure water and food saline among about 5,000 flooded. who were displaced by the severe flood of Sylhet in the upstream waters of Meghalaya, India, courtesy of Prayas Group.
