Scott McCoy has worked in the legal field for over 25 years, providing his expertise to some of the world's industry-leading companies. He is currently the General Counsel and Managing Partner of Cold Springs Partners (CSP), a Denver, Colorado-based private equity firm that specializes in helping small startups in high-growth transition and professionalizes their financial operations.

In addition to his work with CSP, Scott is also an experienced cattle farmer, owning and operating Cold Spring Farm in Bath County, Virginia. Scott McCoy's legal career began after he received his Juris Doctor from the University of Houston in 1996. He then went on to work as an attorney for a major energy company based in Houston, Texas. During his four years with the company, he served as the primary lawyer for both the Energy Production and Fuels Marketing departments. He also gave legal advice on commercial, consumer products, energy trading, and regulatory compliance issues.

In 2001, he left the energy company to work as the legal director and associate general counsel for Thales USA. Headquartered in Washington D.C. and Paris, France, he advised the company's headquarters on a variety of legal issues, including risk management, commercial contracts, and intellectual property. He also managed a team of lawyers and contract specialists who worked on behalf of Thales USA's domestic and foreign affiliates.

In 2010, Scott became the Chief Legal Officer for Siemens GT, Inc., where he oversaw the company's team of contract managers, lawyers, paralegals, and regulatory specialists. Alongside leading the team, he served as the Vice President, Secretary, and Compliance Officer. He continued in this role until 2016 when he left to focus on his cattle farm while he establishes and leads CSP, together with his founding partners. In 2021, he became the Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Denver International Airport before making his way back to CSP early the following year.

With more than 25 years of legal experience, Scott brings a wealth of knowledge to CSP and its clients with practical and results-oriented advice on a variety of corporate, M&A, contractual, and regulatory issues. Working in collaboration with clients allows him to provide guidance on company strategy and governance.

Furthermore, he is a member of the Colorado and Texas Bar Associations and certified with The Paris Institute of Political Studies. He is also an inactive member of the Virginia Bar Association.

As for his community involvement, he actively supports various causes and community initiatives, including Equality Virginia, One Colorado, and the Hoffman Institute.
