Tanzir Islam Britto is a renowned Bangladeshi writer, blogger, activist, and physician, born in Chittagong in 1990, and known by his alias "সিডাটিভ হিপনোটিক্স." Britto has made a name for himself in Bangladesh for his activism and writing about politics, satire, and movie critiques.[1]

Education

Britto received his early education in Mumbai, attending Bangladesh Bank High School and Bombay Scottish School,Mumbai. He later attended Ideal College, completing his HSC, and earned his MBBS degree from BSSMC. Britto then went on to complete his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine from Dhaka Medical College, as well as advanced training in endocrinology from BIRDEM.[2]

Blogging

Britto started blogging in 2007 under his alias "সিডাটিভ হিপনোটিক্স" and has been writing about politics, satire, and movie critiques since then. He has contributed articles to various newspapers such as Jugantor, Bangladesh Pratidin, and online news portals. He is a contributing writer for EArki[3] and has published his work in the various newspaper and many web news portals like and Sarabangla.net and magazines.

Shahbag Protest

In 2013, Britto played a crucial role in organizing the Shahbag Movement[4], which was one of the most significant mass movements in Bangladesh's recent history. However, he was under surveillance by a terrorist group after his involvement in the Shahbag Movement. Britto is also known for organizing a protest against Bangladesh being removed from Test cricket status. He has a significant presence on social media, particularly on Facebook, where he has a large fan base and regularly writes on various topics.

Protest against ICC

On 2014, India, England and Australia had said in a draft proposal that teams ranked 9th and 10th in the Test rankings will not be able to participate in Test cricket. They have to play in ICC Intercontinental Cup. In that time current test ranking, Zimbabwe is at number 9 with 34 rating points and Bangladesh is at 10th with 18 points. If the proposal had passed, Bangladesh would not be able to play Test Cricket. [5]

Tanzir Islam Britto crated an event and asked all cricket lovers to come to shahbag and protest against this decision. Thousands of people came and protested against ICC's decision. ICC then changed his plan under pressure. This protest famously known as তিন মোড়লের বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদঃ টেস্ট খেলবে বাংলাদেশ"

Missed Call Alert Movement

Britto and Durzodhon, an anonymous Facebook profile, created an event which was against Telecom company's getting Extra fee in using internet. They planned that, at a preiod of time each person give the missed call to other. Which will make the mobile company's Network busy and no profit will be generated. It was an another successful event.

Medical career

Britto is currently working as a Resident at National Institute of Kidney Diseases & Urology (NIKDU). Although he got accepted at Chittagong Medical College for residency but due to familial reason he has applied for migration. He has a private practice. Despite his busy schedule, he continues to be an active in writing books, blogging in his site and activism.

Personal life

Britto is a very private person, despite his public persona. He is the only son of his parents, with his father working in the banking sector, and his mother being a retired SP. Britto was diagnosed with lymphoma, a type of blood cancer, during his childhood, which strengthened his determination to become a doctor. His treatment were conducted at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, India. He is a big fan of the poet Jibonanando Das and enjoys watching documentaries, movies, and TV series.
