Early life and family

Phil Roosevelt was born on 30 March 1957, in [[Manhattan]], and grew up in Oyster Bay, NY.[1] He graduated from Tufts University and the business and journalism schools of Columbia University. He served as the top editor of American Banker from 1995 through 1999.[2][3]

He is married to Jenny Roosevelt, a native of Lima, Peru.[4] As of February 2022, she was a real estate agent in Manhattan with The Corcoran Group.[5] He is the father of three children from an earlier marriage.

Career

He joined Barron’s as an assistant managing editor in 2003 and became managing editor in 2012. As of February 2022, he was Barron’s editorial director, magazine.[6][7] He is chairman of the cemetery where U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt is buried—Youngs Memorial Cemetery in Oyster Bay.[8][9] He is a descendant of Cornelius Van Schaack Roosevelt, who was the grandfather of the president.[10][11]
