Open content is a concept introduced by WikiAlpha. It is analogous to open source in the field of programming; open content is content anyone can add to or review. Open content also implies broad standards as to what is accepted as content. For example, on WikiAlpha we accept original research, news, unpublished scientific and journal articles, and pages documenting phenomenona physical or virtual.
