MileageWise
MileageWise is an American technology company that develops a mileage tracking and logging app. While driving for business reasons, the app automatically tracks and classifies mileage using GPS and machine learning algorithms. This data can be used for reimbursement, auditing, and possible tax deductions at IRS audits.[1]
History
MileageWise was founded in 2020 by Ákos Barazsy,[2] under his Hungarian company, RoadRecord.[3][4]
The purpose of creating this app was to help users easily create IRS-Proof mileage logs, both ongoing and retrospectively, with the help of a dedicated web dashboard and a complimentary application.[5] The app was officially launched on Google Play and the App Store in 2020.[6][7]
Products and services
MileageWise offers a mileage-logging mobile app designed to streamline the process of documenting and overseeing business-related travel and costs with the help of a web dashboard. The mobile app's GPS feature automatically logs journeys and ensures accurate recording of user trips to optimize tax deductions while staying compliant with IRS standards. Users also have the option to enter their trips manually or import data from third-party sources like Google Maps Timeline, Excel, and the Volvo Cars app. It syncs with further apps, like Waze and Freshbooks, to document information for further processing. It uses AI-powered wizard called AdWise for creating retrospective logs based on past driving patterns and locations/clients visited.[8]
