The Binaltech series featured Chip in a most unusual role, in which he would help give life to the Beast Wars version of Prowl after the Spark of the original Prowl was lost due to a Decepticon attack. Chip, who had fallen ill, had his life force transferred into Prowl's intended body, which was already implanted with the Autobots' memories; the resulting hybrid being became known as Prowl II.
