Template talk:Wp-cca
From WikiAlpha
Suggested change
I'd like to suggest the template be changed to include a link to the Creative Commons license as shown in the example below. Web (talk) 10:17, 30 July 2011 (MSD)
The below content is licensed according to Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License contrary to the public domain logo at the foot of the page. It originally appeared on http://en.wikipedia.org. The original article might still be accessible here. You can find a list of the article's previous contributors on the talk page. |
- Good idea. Updated. Govind (talk) 02:27, 7 September 2011 (MSD)
- More accurately you "MIGHT ALSO BE ABLE TO FIND a list of the article's previous contributors on the talk page." Mathewignash (talk) 03:09, 7 September 2011 (MSD)

Because this template does not always appear in top level mainspace articles and could benefit from a variable, the wikitext "[[Wikipedia:{{PAGENAME}}|here]]", parsed as "here", should instead have a variable and "FULL" prepended to PAGENAME to form "[[Wikipedia:{{{1|{{FULLPAGENAME}}}}}|here]]", parsed as "here". More suggested changes
I'd like to get feedback on a number of suggestions I have.
- Use the template at the bottom of articles, rather than the top, so people don't have to scroll to the top and bottom of articles to determine the licensing.
- Change the wording to reflect that Wikipedia content is released under 2 different licenses since 2009 as described at wikipedia:WP:Licensing update.
- Change the look of the notice so it's a little easier on the eyes. See example below.
This content is released under the Creative Commons license CC-BY-SA 3.0 and the GNU license GFDL because it originated at Wikipedia and may still be accessible here. A list of previous contributors is available on the talk page. |
Feedback on the proposed changes is very much welcomed. Thanks. Web (talk) 21:04, 9 June 2012 (MSD)
