Dom Okon also known as the King of Instrumental Pop is an American musical artist known for his unique blend of hip-hop and pop music, as well as his storytelling abilities through his instrumental compositions. He gained popularity in late 2021 when he was featured on the song Blackboard, and five months later, he released his debut studio album Youthly in April 2022. The title track of the album charted on the iTunes Pop Charts at #74, making Dom Okon the youngest American instrumental artist to achieve this feat.[1][2][3][4]

Early Life

Dom Okon was born and raised in New Jersey, USA where he discovered his passion for music at an early age. Influenced by music legends such as Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, and Petit Biscuit, he began experimenting with different genres, including alternative pop, and hip-hop. In 2021, he made his debut in the music industry as a featured artist on the song "Blackboard," which marked the beginning of his musical journey.[5][6]

In April 2022, Dom Okon released his first full-length studio album, "Youthly." The album showcased his signature style, combining urban and sad instrumental music to tell stories of childhood experiences and scenarios. The album's success on the iTunes Pop Charts marked a significant milestone in Dom Okon's career.[7][8]

Advocacy for Mental Health

Beyond his musical career, Dom Okon is an advocate for mental health. In 2022, he founded the youth organization "Calmly Advice," dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and providing resources and support to teens and young adults. Through Calmly Advice, he addresses topics such as managing toxic friendships, promoting healthy sleep habits, self-love affirmations, and maintaining a positive outlook on life.[9][10]
