The Phillip R. Clarke is a lake freighter. She is equipped with a long boom, that carries a conveyor belt, that can directed to port or starboard, that allows the vessel to unload her cargos of bulk material. Bulk carriers' cargos include coal, ore, limestone, sand, rock salt and sugar.
