He initiated his political involvement by joining the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) party, where he actively participated in the Briged Pemuda MIC division. However, in the early 2000s, he made the decision to depart from the party. Subsequently, Danial became a member of the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), where he engaged in various grassroots activities during the party's formative years. Despite his initial enthusiasm, internal disputes within the Hulu Selangor division led to his departure from PKR, prompting him to redirect his efforts towards non-governmental organization activities. Throughout his political career, Danial has played pivotal roles in strategizing election campaigns within the Hulu Selangor Division. Elevation to the Presidency of Party Bersatu Sasa Malaysia Following the resignation of the incumbent president, Nazry Roy, from the party's leadership in December 2023, Danial was elected to assume the presidency.
