Vanessa Lau is a Canadian entrepreneur, online marketing strategist, content marketing expert, digital content creator, blogger, and social media influencer. She was born on 29th April 1994 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She is of Asian descent.
Vanessa Lau is one of the youngest entrepreneurs to have had such an impact on social media that millions of people know her. She teaches creators, thought leaders, and online entrepreneurs how to grow on social media and make more sales.[1]
Early Life and Education
Vanessa Lau was born on April 29, 1994, in Vancouver, British Columbia. Vanessa went to Hugh McRoberts Secondary School where she took French immersion. She graduated high school in 2012.
She then graduated from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia where she studied Marketing and Brand Management.
She was elected as the Commerce Undergraduate Society's President in 2015, and won the Outstanding Female Graduate Award in 2016.
Career
After graduating from the University of British Columbia, she began her career as a Marketing Assistant at the L'Oreal Group in Montreal Canada. She worked on brands such as: Biotherm, Lancome, Kiehl's, Urban Decay, and IT Cosmetics between 2016 - 2018.
She quit her Marketing job in 2018, and decided to work as a part-time Coffee Barista at Blenz Coffee while she created YouTube videos on the side.
Vanessa uploaded her first video titled “How to STOP feeling behind in life (AND START TAKING ACTION!)”.[2] Her most popular video, however, is “How to Gain Instagram Followers Organically (Grow from 0 to 5000 followers FAST!)"[3] which has over 6,000,000 views.
In 2019, she decided to start her own company, "Vanessa Lau International Inc." and go full-time as a YouTube content creator.
Vanessa Lau International Inc. is a company that helps info-based creators, thought leaders, and entrepreneurs reach more people and make more income using social media platforms like YouTube, Instagram, etc.
The company sells courses, coaching programs, and masterminds, generating over $7 million dollars in sales between 2019 - 2022.
Vanessa's YouTube channel "Vanessa Lau"[4] has amassed over 600,000 subscribers where she publishes weekly videos on Content Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Social Media.[5]
Personal Life
Vanessa Lau has been in a relationship with online entrepreneur Leon Larano since 2015. They live in a 5,700 square foot home in Vancouver, British Columbia, which they bought in 2021 for $2.5 million. They share 4 pets together: Nugget (Pomeranian Dog), Jamba (Ragdoll Cat), Juicy (Ragdoll Cat), and Jelly (Ragdoll Cat).
