ISN name quote
00961 Abdul Wahab
The detainee was on a list of personnel who had a Casio watch in his possession on l May 2003.[2] Terrorism experts have said a Casio watch is a signature component of bombs made by militants trained in Saudi millionaire Usama bin Laden's terrorist camps in Afghanistan. Islamic militants are routinely trained by Usama bin Laden's operatives to wire Casio watches to explosives.

Detainee possessed a Casio F-91 watch at his time of capture.[3] This model of Casio watch is commonly associated with IEDs and IED makers, and has been identified as a signature element in al-Qaida bomb making. Such watches were reportedly given to the students at al-Qaida bomb making training courses in Afghanistan, at which the students received instruction in the preparation of timing devices using the watch.

  • The detainee was arrested with a Casio watch.[4] The Casio watch, which was commonly given to al Farouq attendees , indicates that the detainee most likely went through the course voluntarily.
  • Analyst Note: Upon further analysis, the existence of such a plot has not been verified and the detainee's link to a Casio watch is insufficient to assess he received explosives training.[5]
00223 Abdul Rahman Abdul Abu Ghityh Sulayman
The detainee was captured with a model F-91 W Casio watch.[6] The Casio watch (Model F-91 W) has been used in bombings that have been linked to al Qaida and radical-Islamic-terrorist-improvised explosive devices.
00296 Mesut Sen
The detainee was in possession of a Casio watch.[7] The same model number of Casio watch found in the possession of the detainee has been frequently used in bombings that have been linked to al Qaida and other radical Islamic terrorist groups.
