History

Founded in 2014 by Rooz Vahdatpour under the name WCW Organization, Inc, the company has been doing business as Tropicanna since 2019. Tropicanna acquired a retail license in August 2019 and currently operates their dispensary at 1628 S Grand Ave, Santa Ana, CA 92705.

Vahdatpour’s dedication to the cannabis industry led to the founding of the Orange County Advocacy Alliance (https://www.ourocaa.org), to which he is the founding member. The OCAA is a non-profit dedicated to establishing and maintaining lasting relationships with Orange County operators and local legislatures to promote equitable opportunity and advancement within the cannabis industry. This ethos is evident at the company’s retail facility, Tropicanna Dispensary, where culture is paramount.

Retail Store & Facilities

With a strong emphasis on culture, customer service and menu selection, Tropicanna Dispensary is now the top ranked cannabis store in Santa Ana. Boasting one of the widest selections of hash, concentrates and hard to find cannabis products. Tropicanna's menu is unique in California, offering consistently competitive prices. The brand’s Miami-inspired aesthetic greets customers with bright colors and flamingos, reminiscent of South Beach. Tropicanna’s vibrant branding pairs well with their exciting selection of cannabis products, and their vivacious staff for whom they are consistently praised. In fact, their tropics-meets-cannabis brand has been so well-received, the company released a successful merchandise line in 2022.

Community Involvement

Tropicanna is a regular contributor to the Santa Ana community and its culture of giving back is notably present. Through its partnership with For the People Task Force, Tropicanna provided free haircuts to homeless individuals in and around Santa Ana (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFT4esqI8II). Tropicanna sponsored the 2021 Santa Ana Blading Cup, a competition which gathers the most talented and awe-inspiring rollerbladers in the world. The team at Tropicanna recognizes the need for supporting cinema and other arts in Orange County, hosting a film event at the Frida Cinema, a non-profit, community focused cinema located in the heart of Santa Ana since 2014.
