Abdus Samad (born: 1929) is an Islamic scholar, writer, thinker, philosopher and eminent educationist born in Comilla, Bangladesh. He is also known as Shaikhul Hadith Principal Muhammad Abdus Samad. He is the founder of the Ahlehadeeth Andolon Bangladesh and the first Bengali translator of Sahih al-Bukhari among the Ahl al-Hadith. He was the founder and Amir of Tawheed Trust .

Birth and lineage

Shaikhul Hadis Principal Muhammad Abdus Samad was born in 1929 in a traditional Miyaji family of Tulagaon Noapara under Debidwar Upazila of Comilla District. His father's name is Maulana Saidur Rahman and mother's name Shabanun Nisa. Miaji Khandan's famous Mujahid was his father Maulana Saidur Rahman. And his mother was a virtuous, pious and noble woman of the same family. Khan Muhammad Miyaji , was a famous scholar and religious preacher of Miyaji Khandan. His worthy successor was his second son, Munsi Chamiruddin. They were recognized figures in contemporary times for the pursuit and propagation of correct Islamic knowledge. Shaikhul Hadith Principal Muhammad Abdus Samad, as his great grandson and grandson respectively, has been well-established as the best son of his generation as a scholar, researcher, columnist, journalist, good speaker and a devoted da'i of religion. It can be said that he was the crown of the traditional Miyaji Khandan .
