A scientific consultant is an expert with an advanced degree in a particular science field who works with an organization to advise or assist on scientific matters in the company. For example, if a company wants to conduct an experiment to test its latest product, it may hire a scientific consultant to help its research and development team design and complete the experiment. Typically, scientific consultants work with companies for a limited time, such as the length of one project, before transitioning to work for another company.
