Detailed Career

Since early childhood, Sandy had a passion for clothes and colors. Being the youngest of 4 siblings, she had an obsession to do activities that her elder siblings would do. This obsession turned into dressing like her elder sister, in turn, wearing her clothes. At the tender age of 12, Sandy learnt how to sew and cut, often cutting her sister’s clothes to fit her. By age 13, Sandy was the house tailor, designer, and fashionista.

She did start with trying to look like her sister, but now, she’s fashioning her and the rest of her siblings!

In 2015, Sandy joined the family business run by her mother while attending the American University of Science and Technology. The family business is an interior designing business with a specialized focus on using movable furniture like tables, vases, and indoor plants to add elegance to the interior of homes. She thrived in the family business, easily being promoted from accountant, to customer relationship manager, then eventually, the store manager!

By the end of 2015, she was arranging luxury events like Skyline Luxury Sports events in Beirut. By 2016, she started her own small venture while managing the main store of the family business.

She started her own restaurant located close to Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Rolex to serve well off clients shopping in those stores. The restaurant had a collaboration with Supercar company xxxx to serve their clientele too. Close to the end of 2016 the family business decided to expand to the East with Sandy being the second in charge. This led to a lot of travel, therefore she had to close her thriving restaurant business.

Sandy successfully created logistical hubs for the business in the East, which led to a two-fold increase in revenue. In 2018, Sandy hosted “Sobhiye”, a TV program on Arab Woman TV.

After graduating in Translation, she decided it is time to start her own business by combining her obsession with clothes, with work experience. In 2018, she started selling corsets through word of mouth. By 2018 end, she had a good customer base, but the quality of the product and pace of production were a problem. In 2019, she left to Africa to start her own factory of making corsets so she could control the quality and meet the growing demand for her corsets.

By the time she was in Africa, the world was experiencing the first wave of Covid-19. The pandemic affected her business grievously and she could not start her idea.

She was stuck for a full year in Africa, so she took advantage of this year by volunteering with local charities in Nairobi, Kenya.

By 2020 end, Sandy got back to Beirut, Lebanon. With the world economy going through a severe recession, the family business was not profiting. So she had to let go of her business for now, to support the family business. In March 2021, her father was hospitalized…

He had been suffering from lung cancer. Her father died in March, 2021. Sandy decided to restart her business as the family business had improved with her effort. Her father had left her an inheritance of five hundred thousand dollars, which helped her to start her own factory and clothing line. She was interviewed on Al Jadeed News TV on August for her achievements of running her own factory at the age of 22. This gave her a big following on social media platforms that keeps on increasing daily. She launched her clothing line Sagoma Di Sandy on September 25, 2021.

Sagoma Di Sandy literally means the silhouette of Sandy. The clothing line consists of beautifully patterned dresses with a specific focus on corsets as it brings out the curves of a woman.

She has been invited twice to Cannes movie festival, which she describes as the most beautiful festival she ever attended! Nowadays, she’s living in Paris, where she plans for her future steps.

Hobbies

She has always been passionate about making clothes that match any body type. Always believed that her fashion ideas can give any body the perfect and ideal form, however was the shape!

Just then, she started dabbling into making corsets. She like sewing, tailoring, and critiquing fashion specialized on the corset based style. Aside from her hobby of making clothes, she read often and she’s a social media influencer. Her primary goal is to make girls’ dream come true, and give them not only the desired clothes, but also the desired shape.

Sandy is also an adventurous traveler, she’s flexible, mixing with so many cultures!

Always looking to know more about the world and how other populations live.

Future plan

Currently she owns a factory in Beirut, Lebanon. The factory falls under her company Sagoma Di Sandy which is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She and her team are trying to bring the joy of youth into young women lives. They want to produce vibrant colored dresses that are chic and elegant at a price that does not cost an arm and a leg.

When she was younger, she admired Christian Dior, Chanel, Ellie Saab, Zuhair Murad, and Versace. But, her thought was, a young woman cannot afford that! On the other hand, her elder sister would occasionally have one of those brands. So her desire is shared by millions of young women, therefore she thought why not create her own dress? Currently the business has an online Presence in the Levant and GCC countries.

The signature store in Beirut already opened up in October 2021, and she's now opening her store in Paris. While she’s opening the stores, she hopes to display her clothes in major department stores.

Before June 2022, to have physical store presence in all major fashion cities in Europe including Paris, Milan, Rome, Barcelona, Madrid and Berlin. She will be having her clothes in the department stores too in those countries.

By December 2022, she hopes to be in over 300 department stores, and to have a physical store presence in all major fashion cities in Europe, Levant, and GCC. After she reaches that stage, she will be going public. She’s aiming to be listed in the stock exchange so she can do a bigger shift and move to the US market. However, the IPO and US market will not take place before 2023. It will take a minimum of 2 years to accomplish this step.
