Rhonda Renee Swan (born June 4, 1973), is a CEO, bestselling author, renowned international speaker, and an 8-figure personal branding and business strategist.[1] She is well-known for her work with the Unstoppable Branding Agency, of which she is the CEO and founder. She also holds the positions of ‘Momager’ at Hanalei Swan Styles (‘HS Styles’), ‘Unstoppable Momma’ in her Unstoppable Family, as well as a writer and contributor at HuffPost.[2] She has been listed under Forbes’ ‘Influential Women to Watch in 2021’ as well as The New York Times’ ‘Top 12 Entrepreneurs to Watch in 2021’ list, and her agency has been ranked on Forbes’ ‘Top 7 PR & Branding Firms for Entrepreneurs in 2021’.

Early Life and Education

Rhonda Swan was born in Livonia, a large suburb in Detroit, Michigan, on the 4th of June 1973.

In school, she excelled as a gifted athlete. She subsequently obtained a full scholarship to Northwood University, where she pursued an MBA in business and advertising. There, she continued to be a part of the USA Women’s National Softball Team. She also actively took part in bodybuilding competitions.[3]

Career

After obtaining her MBA, Swan took a job at GlaxoSmithKline,[4] a large pharmaceutical corporation, where she managed their $500 million sales and advertising campaigns. She remained there for 8 years, up to the point where she was on the verge of running the company’s western division. However, her ambitions in this company faded one morning during a business meeting. Her boss had yelled at a woman who arrived late because she had to drop her infant child off at daycare. It was then when she realized this wasn’t the type of career path she wanted to go down. Swan then vowed that her own future child would never have to be put in daycare. She made the decision to pursue a future wherein she wouldn’t have to trade her six-figure income for valuable time with her family.

Three months later, Swan decided to quit her job and invested in building her own online marketing business in the real estate field. Using her experience in digital marketing, Swan was able to achieve success in her business whilst being able to work from home and focus on her family.

However, four years later during the stock market crash in 2008, Swan and her husband lost most of their savings. They were victims of fraud and as a result, their business went under. Eventually, they declared bankruptcy. They then opted to sell their belongings. They left their home in San Diego in order to travel the world, working remotely online wherever they lived. Throughout their 8 years of traveling, they lived in Morocco, Brazil, Peru, Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico, Brazil, Fiji, and Indonesia.[5]

In 2010, Swan went on to found the Unstoppable Branding Agency (of which she is currently the CEO), which is an agency specializing in online branding in PR which aims to help “the best-kept-secrets become world reknown brands”. In essence, she shares the stories of speakers, consultants, coaches, and entrepreneurs in high-profile publications in order to shed a spotlight on their careers and personal branding. The company started off by offering courses that taught people how to build their brand. But eventually, it developed into a PR agency that allows its clients to develop their own brands. About 80% of the company’s employees are women. Swan uses a formula dubbed the ‘Sexy Brand Building Formula’, which guides entrepreneurs who are in need of guidance for product creation, launch strategies, and rebranding.

Currently, Swan is writing a new book titled ‘Women Gone Wild” The feminine guide to fearless living, which focuses on the significance behind empowering women to let their voices be heard.

Personal Life

Swan was born to a 19-year-old mother and a 20-year-old father. She is of American, Indian, and Italian descent.[6] Her troubled childhood was fueled by her father’s drug addiction; she and her mother often found themselves caught in the middle of her father’s thefts. As a result, they frequently moved houses and the young Swan was no stranger to car accidents and jail visits. She carried with her a deep insecurity that she may someday end up in her father’s shoes unless control was exercised over every area of her life. As a result, she eventually developed an eating disorder that lasted for nearly 10 years.[7]

Swan’s rocky upbringing and struggles through her childhood and teenage years served as a platform upon which she built a new outlook in life. In her adulthood, she decided to help empower women who struggled with self-worth everywhere.

She eventually married Brian Swan, an ex-corporate engineer,[8] on the 28th of November 2003. The two had a daughter, Hanalei Swan. Hanalei is currently an artist, surfer and young fashion designer at HS Styles,[9] an ethically-conscious fashion brand that supports and promotes education for children globally.

Hanalei is a well-traveled person who has seen all six continents – and she intends to visit the seventh one, Antarctica, soon. Hanalei’s new company, UNIFY Mask & Apparel, has provided sustainable facemasks during the COVID-19 pandemic. It has also successfully hired over 100 local workers in Indonesia[10] who have lost their jobs during the pandemic.

Rhonda Swan currently lives a positive and fulfilled life with her husband and daughter – her ‘Unstoppable Family’. She intends to grow her company, the Unstoppable Branding Agency, to greater heights to help control the narrative and serve the greater good of humanity.
