Qian Jianan is a writer, from China, who writes in both Chinese and English.[1] Qian traveled to the United States to attend graduate school in Iowa. She earned her Master of Fine Arts in 2016, and is scheduled to earn her PhD in 2020.

Her essay Memory Palace was published in January 2018 issue of the Shanghai Literary Review.[2]

On August 23, 2018, The New York Times published Qian's description of her frustrations and distress upon hearing her mother had experienced a stroke, and was receiving inadequate medical attention in the Chinese medical system.[1]

Qian published a novel, in China, with the English title "Say No to Eggs".[3]
