The Nitro are an Decepticon and Alien from the Transformers universe.
Nitro is a six-limbed creature roughly analogous to a cat from the planet Brobdingnag. He belongs to Aron, a young, timid boy. Because everything on the planet is scaled up, Nitro is more than big enough to use Soundwave as a chew toy.
The Transformers cartoon
When a group of startled Transformers arrived in Aron's room, Nitro immediately began stalking a blue and white one, chasing it across the floor. He soon caught his prize, only to have it taken away by his master. Undeterred, he stalked a group of Autobots hiding in Aron's building set and then helped Aron capture Ravage. Aron's parents then came to investigate the smell of smoke, and Nitro gave away the Autobots' hiding place in a desk drawer. Sometime later, the Autobots were able to hitch a ride on Nitro to get back into Aron's room. Perceptor was able to come up with a plan to return the group of Autobots to Earth, however once preparations were made, the Decepticons attacked and took Bumblebee hostage. Perhaps sensing a chance to redeem himself, Nitro pounced on them, freeing Bumblebee but sending the Decepticons into the teleport beam and back to Earth. Fortunately the Autobots were able to modify Aron's toy rocket, and the boy and his pet watched them streak off into the sky.
Transformers Cinematic Universe
Nitro Zeus, or Nitro for short, is a powerful, merciless hunter, using his vast arsenal and formidable tracking skills to locate and capture whatever targets Megatron demands. Shockwave's death on Earth greatly angered him, and now both humanity and the Autobots are in Nitro's sights.
Nitro Zeus was among the Decepticons in T.R.F.'s custody. When the T.R.F. opted to work with Megatron and release some Decepticons to be part of his "crew", Nitro Zeus was among his first choices. He was cleared for release, provided he stay within the county, and joined the Decepticons on their hunt for Cade Yeager, but not before thanking his jailers, as well as making some either creepy or threatening comments about one's wife. Though the Decepticons discovered Cade's location, he managed to evade them initially, angering the battle-starved Decepticon. He also seemed fond of sticking close to the smaller Mohawk. They followed Cade to an abandoned town, where they were met with some not-quite-unexpected resistance in the form of the Autobots Bumblebee, Drift, and Crosshairs. Unbeknownst to the Decepticons, Cade had also rigged the town with explosives which damaged the cons. While many other Decepticons fell in the resulting chaos, Nitro Zeus was among the survivors, though Cade escaped. When Cade traveled to England, Nitro Zeus followed with Megatron and Barricade. Megatron soon, inevitably, betrayed T.R.F. and began working with Quintessa to destroy Earth and restore Cybertron. After a corrupted Optimus Prime broke free of Quintessa's control, Nitro Zeus was at Megatron's side when he took the staff from Prime. Rather than avenging Shockwave, Nitro held the weakened autobot down at gunpoint and mocked him for losing his chance to kill Unicron. He then made his way to Stone Henge with his leader and joined his comrades in watching as the two planets began colliding but eventually fled when they came under attack. He then followed Megatron to Cybertron to meet with Quintessa and participated in the final battle with the Autobots. He joined his leader and Infernocus on the front lines but fell back when the Autobots broke through. Inside the control center, he fought fiercely along side Megatron in taking on Optimus, Bumblebee, Hot Rod and Hound. Unfortunately, despite holding his own during most of the battle, as the control center plummeted to earth, he met his demise when Bumblebee clung to his back and blew his head off.
