Muhammad Ashraf Qureshi
Muhammad Ashraf Jabbar also known as Ashraf Qureshi was born on 1st January 1965 in Karachi in a Qureshi family with a background from [[AliGarh]. His father was a successful and famous Fruit and vegetable exporter. He initially presumed his father's business of export and then continued that business for a few years after which he joined PIA for a brief period.
Political journey:
He started his political career at the age of 16 when he was first arrested during a protest. His initial affiliation was with Jamaat E Islami where he founded the youth force called Pasban-e-Pakistan
Later he left Pasban-e-Pakistan in 1993 due to ideological differences with the hierarchy. His friends and his Influence convinced Imran Khan to join politics. He served in different positions within the party like President Sindh, President Karachi, Secretary General Sindh, etc. He was co-founder of Imran Tiger force, his blunt speeches and groundwork, and structural formation of PTI in Karachi bought a massive following amongst the PTI workers. He got nominated for contesting elections from different areas of Karachi, Pakistan. He contested.[1]on the seat of NA-253( now named as NA 243 ) in 2013 general elections and lost. He again contested from same constituency of NA-253 in the general elections of 2018. Ashraf Qureshi is considered the secret weapon of Chairman PTI Imran Khan and is known for not compromising on his vision and principles which has earned him a special place in the party.
Personal Life:
Muhammad Ashraf Jabbar (politically known as Ashraf Qureshi) is the founder member of Imran Khan Political party Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf. He was amongst the first few people to join hands with Imran Khan back in 1996. He worked for Shaukat Khanum hospital as a volunteer.
He later started his Restaurant in Karachi which gained massive success over time. While maintaining the restaurant business he started investing in property and land on the highway. He launched his own housing project named Indus Enclave[2]
He started his own firm now known as Al-Ashraf Group Of Companies which is heading as the Chairman and founder. The company successfully manages 6 to 7 different projects in different industries.
Mayor Election for Karachi 2022
The 2022 Karachi local elections are scheduled to be held in Karachi, Pakistan to elect members of local councils. These members would then elect the Mayor of Karachi (2022-2026). These will be the 3rd Karachi local government.
