Dr Mufleh al Qahtani is the President -- or chairmain -- of Saudi Arabia's National Society of Human Rights.[1][2] His comments on the difficulties faced by individuals who can't afford to own a home have been quoted in the Saudi press.

In 2009 al Qahtani met with a delegation of visiting members of the United States Congress.[3] He briefed the visitors on the general human rights situation in Saudi Arabia, and also raised the case of Humaidan Al-Turki, a Saudi convicted in Colorado.
