Louay Sakka is a citizen of Syria, and served as a leader of the Syrian resistance in 2012.[1]

Arab Spring

In 2010 ordinary citizens in various Arab countries, with totalitarian government, started to hold demonstrations, collectively known as the "Arab Spring".[1] The first demonstrations were in Tunisia, and lead to the collapse of the Tunisian government. Libya's and Egypt's government also fell. Civil strife in Syria has risen to the level where it has been described as a civil war. Sakka was said to be "the head of the Syria Support Group".
