Master Corporal Kristal Giesebrecht was a soldier in the Canadian Armed Forces who was killed by improvised explosive devices that struck their LAV III in Panjwaii District on June 26, 2010.[1][2][3] The bomb was in a doorway "20 kilometres west of Kandahar City in Panjwaii District." Gisebrecht was the third female Canadian soldier to be die in combat in Afghanistan.

Giesbrecht was on her second tour in Afghanistan.[4]

A year later her husband Mark Giesebrecht traveled to Kandahar with the family members of other Canadian soldiers who lost their lives.[5][6][7]
