Joseph Quinn Bretz, aka Joe Quinn Bretz or Joe Q. Bretz (born September 24, 1974), is an American actor, model, music/TV/film producer, and tech entrepreneur.[1] He is most notably known for producing the first direct to hard disk-digital production of a major music television awards program, The California Music Awards. He is also one of the first early adopters and pioneers of “OTT” over the top media streaming. He is the Co-founder, Chief Operating Officer of PshychoDeluX Media.

Early life

Bretz was born in Milwaukee, WI, on September 24, 1974, to Randolph Bretz, a former Milwaukee police officer turned entrepreneur and Andrea Hope Miller. Bretz’s grandmother was a vaudeville actress in the Horace Heidt during the 1930s. He is a distant cousin of the world-famous violinist, Jascha Heifetz, and his 3rd cousin was the famed Yiddish poet Alter Esselin.

Career

Joe started his acting and modeling career in the Midwest. He moved to Los Angeles, California, at the age of 20, where he further pursued his acting and modeling career. He began his film production career with various TV and film and music productions, including the Rob Schneider Feature Film comedy The Chosen One. Bretz has worked in numerous entertainment and music endeavors with “A” list celebrities, musicians, and athletes. He also was the founder of SoundByte Music management.

Joe began his tech career after moving to San Francisco, California. He was the President, Director, and Founder of a Public Markets Company in the tech/entertainment/media sector. He is a member of the Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences. He has also managed and operated a diversified private fund portfolio, consisting of high-tech start-ups and real estate/nightclub operations. Including the world-famous San Francisco night club, the Paradise Lounge.

He was a pioneering figure in “OTT,” set-top digital delivery entertainment systems. He partnered with the former chairman of Image entertainment, Martin W. Greenwald, to form a publicly-traded company, The digital development group. He met Greenwald in 2007 when he led a private equity firm Nyx Acquisitions, of which led to a failed purchase of USD 100m of Image entertainment during the economic crisis of 2008.

Personal life

He currently resides between Spain and the United States with his wife, fashion model Lisa Charlott.
