Hothead is a fictional character and third-party Transformer homage to Generation 1 Duros made by Headrobots in 2010.

Headrobots

In 2010 Headrobots created Hothead. Hothead is an homage to Duros, the Headmaster partner Generation 1 Hardhead. According to the biography for Butcher he and Butcher are enemies.

Development

Headrobots announced Hothead and Iguana in February 2010.[1]

In May 2010 Headrobots announced that Hothead was compatable with the Generation 1 Hardhead toy.[2]

Reception

The [email protected] podcast for February 25th, 2010 selected pictures of Cobra, Hothead and Iguana as one of the New Picture Picks.[3]

The [email protected] podcast for September 16th, 2010 selected a picture of Hothead as one of the New Picture Picks.[4]

In the moonbase2 podcast for January 9th, 2011 Dave said he would definitely be getting Hothead.[5]

Comics

In Undercover!! The Great Drone Counteroffensive Courageous steals a mysterious disc from the evil Headrobots. He uses its powerful algorithm to create Drone from the source codes of himself, Stronghold, Centurion and Hothead. In the story Hothead uses the Generation 1 Hardhead body.[6]

Toys

  • Headrobots Hothead (2010)
A new mold. Made to look like the Generation 1 Duros toy. This toy was intended as an add-on for Universe Hardhead, but works on any toy with the same mold, as well as on the Generation 1 Headmaster toys. Includes three guns, a connector for the guns, and an adapter to place the head on Generation 1 Headmaster bodies.[7]
This toy was recolored into Stronghold and remolded into Butcher.
  • Headrobots Alternate Universe Hothead (2011)
A remolded version of Hothead that looks more like the comic model of Duros in head mode. Exclusive to Big Bad Toy Store.[8]
