The team of lawyers at Gloria James-Civetta & Co. is led by Head Lawyer and co-founder, Gloria James-Civetta, who has more than 24 years of legal experience. The firm prides itself on rendering personalised legal advice and service. It is the utmost importance to meet the client’s needs and give advice on the client’s best interests. The firm’s lawyers dedicate their time to clearly explain all legal options available to the client. Gloria James-Civetta, Head Lawyer - Gloria James-Civetta has had a 24-year legal career where she has gained considerable experience and knowledge in diverse areas of the law pertaining to Family Law, Criminal Law, Civil, Corporate & Commercial Law and Estate Law. She is a senior practitioner in Mediation, Collaborative Practice, Negotiations, and Litigation.

Yvonne J. Schelkis-Sweeney, Senior Lawyer - Yvonne Janet Schelkis-Sweeney is a Barrister-at-Law (Middle Temple), a lawyer with 22 years of experience as an Advocate and Solicitor as well as a Commissioner for Oaths in Singapore. She speaks English, Mandarin, and Malay.

Cheryl Cheong, Senior Lawyer - Cheryl graduated from the University of Leeds, the United Kingdom in 2010 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2012. She was appointed as an Associate Mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre in 2014. Cheryl has acted as a co-mediator for dispute resolution at the Singapore Mediation Centre.

Chong Xin Yi, Senior Lawyer - Chong Xin Yi (Liesel) graduated from the Singapore Management University in 2013 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2014. She speaks English, Mandarin, and German.

Shereen Goklani, Senior Lawyer - Shereen graduated from the University of Liverpool, the United Kingdom in 2013 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2015. Prior to reading law, in 2010, Shereen graduated from Temasek Polytechnic with a Diploma in Law and Management and has worked at a law firm in London.

Soh Yan Ru Samantha, Lawyer - Samantha graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2014 with a Second-Upper Honours degree. In 2016, she was called to the Singapore Bar. Prior to reading law, she completed her Bachelor's Degree in Arts (Media and Communications) in 2011.

Sandra Ong, Lawyer - Sandra graduated from the University of Southampton, the United Kingdom in 2015 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2017. Sandra has gained relevant working experience in general litigation, including civil, criminal, matrimonial and Syariah law. Sandra has also been involved in non-contentious work such as probate and administration matters.

Beverly Lim, Lawyer - Beverly undertook her training at GJC Law with a focus on family law. During her training at the firm, she was involved in the preparation of various child-related proceedings such as interim custody, care and control, and relocation applications. She had also drafted legal submissions in relation to the division of matrimonial assets and spousal and child maintenance. Beverly was exposed to and assisted in both non-contentious matters and contentious matrimonial proceedings at the lower and the appellate courts.

Gustavo Civetta - Gustavo (“Gus”) is of Italian descent, born in Argentina, migrated to Australia and now living in Singapore. He brings to GJC his business development skills and interpersonal client service experience. He knows that when every client comes to GJC, his job is to ensure that each client’s case is treated with priority and handled with the utmost care, professionalism, and confidentiality that GJC can provide.
