Glenn Hopper
Glenn Hopper (born 08 May 1972) is an American author,[1] investor, AI and financial technology expert,[2] and filmmaker.[3] He is the former CFO of Sandline Global[4] and current CFO of Eventus Advisory Group,[5][6] and author of Deep Finance: Corporate Finance in the Information Age.[7][8][9][10] Hopper is also the writer and producer of The Hanged Man (2007, Osiris Pictures).
Early Life and Education
Hopper was born on 08 May, 1972 in Memphis, Tennessee. He has a master’s in finance with a certificate in business analytics from Harvard University and an MBA from Regis University, Denver.[11]
Career
Hopper began his career in 1995 as an editor, journalist, and public affairs specialist in the United States Navy. He worked in telecommunications in the early 2000s as a product manager and later as a finance leader. He then he started his CFO career by joining HCT Investments. In the same year, he produced and wrote Neil H. Weiss’s directed thriller film The Hanged Man (2007).
He is a data science evangelist who has written on business intelligence and analytics. Hopper has worked in several industries, including retail, legal technology, software and telecommunications.[12] In 2015, Hopper co-founded Rabble.tv, a community-driven social audio platform that allows users to broadcast, discuss their insights and opinions relating to sports and television shows.
As of 2021, Hopper was the CFO of Sandline Global. He is currently director/CFO at Eventus Advisory Group,[13] where he has developed an FP&A tool using ChatGPT.[14] He is a member of American Mensa and volunteers his time for The Analytics Foundation.[15]
Hopper is at the forefront of a group he labels New age CFOs who see the expanding role of finance departments in modern businesses.[16] In May 2023, Hopper was part of a virtual event panel discussion on Generative AI in Finance at Harvard Digital, Data, and Design Institute.[17]
