Duneraker is a fictional character and third-party Transformer created by iGear in 2013. He is an homage to the 1985 Transformers Autobot character Beachcomber.

iGear

Duneraker is a third-party Transformer homage to the 1985 Generation 1 Transformers character Beachcomber.

Development

Duneraker was designed by Cassy Sark.

In June 2011 iGear released a teaser with the outlines of Dreamwave Productions art of several Autobots. One of them was based on Beachcomber.[1]

Duneraker was first teased on the back of the instructions for Weapon Specialist and Medical Specialist.[2]

Prototype images of Cogz, Bushwacker and Duneraker were posted to iGear's Facebook page in November 2012.[3]

iGear announced that Duneraker would be available in May 2013. Their web site bundled orders of Duneraker with another Mini Warrior, Veer.

In March 2013 iGear released image of the boxes for Cogz and Duneraker.[4]

Duneraker was released in June 2013.

In December 2014 Reprolabels released a set of stickers for Duneraker that could make it look more like Beachcomber or BuggyMan.

Reception

The WTF@TFW podcast for November 15th, 2012 selected pictures of Bushwacker, Cogz and Duneraker as one of the New Picture Picks.[5]

In the Fwooshcast podcast for November 24th, 2012 the hosts talked about the Bushwacker, Cogz, Duneraker and Veer color photos.[6]

The Radio Free Cybertron podcast for November 28th, 2012 discussed iGear's Bushwacker, Cogz and Duneraker as part of their Third Party Roundup.[7]

The WTF@TFW podcast for March 15th, 2013 selected package pictures of Cogz and Duneraker as one of the New Picture Picks.[8]

The Radio Free Cybertron podcast for March 31st, 2013 discussed the box images of Cogz and Duneraker as part of their Third Party Roundup.[9]

Cogz and Duneraker were among the third-party Transformers who appeared in an advertisement by Robot Kingdom on the back cover of Transformers: Timelines issue for Summer 2013.[10]
