Animated series

Devcon made his only animated appearance in the second season episode of the animated series called "The Gambler". Here, he appeared attempting to collect a bounty on Dirge, Astrotrain and Ramjet. Meeting up with Smokescreen, he discovered Smokescreen's allies, including Optimus Prime, had been captured by Lord Gyconi, a local shady businessman. Realizing the Decepticons and Gyconi were in league, the two teamed up against their common foe. The two tracked down and engaged the villains in a firefight. Outnumbered and outgunned, they were saved when Gyconi's assistant Sleezardo betrayed him, allowing them to capture Gyconi and rescue the other Autobots from Gyconi's pit fights. Devcon then teamed up with Sleezardo, offering him a partnership to apprehend the Decepticons. He was not seen again in the series, although Sleezardo appeared in the third season.

Fictional biography

After leaving the Wreckers due to a lack of action in this new peacetime era (and disagreement on 'questionable methods' of interrogation), Devcon finds himself a loner and without a sense of peace. He prefers the seclusion of a lone-wold lifestyle, as it allows him to focus on the task at hand, and not fall prey to the distractions of attachment or sentiment. This reputation as a 'bot who gets the job done' has caught the attention of Knight Alpha Trizer, who sees the potential for such a resource on his team of Knights and the potential to reshape the aggression into a fine edge. Working as a bounty hunter, Devcon tracks down thugs and criminals around the galaxy and brings them back to Cybertron for judgment . However one such criminal has eluded him on countless occasions: the mercenary Flamewar. Devcon is constantly lagging behind his prey, always showing up after Flamewar has committed her latest robbery or assassination. If that wasn’t enough, Flamewar knows it and taunts him at every opportunity. When approached by Alpha Trizer to join the Knights of Cybertron, Devcon had only one demand before accepting the rank of Knight Sergeant: everyone stays out of the way when it comes to apprehending his nemesis.

Comics

3H Enterprises

In the BotCon exclusive Transformers: Universe - The Wreckers comics, Devcon reappeared as one of the victims of Megatron's conquest of Cybertron in Beast Machines. However, when Megatron tried to insert his spark in a Vehicon body, Devcon retained his individuality and joined Primal Prime's band of Wreckers. Devcon put up the most resistance to the former Decepticons Cyclonus and Skywarp in the group, and also had a strong dislike of the former Predacon Packrat. These issues were rendered irrelevant when Cyclonus betrayed the Wreckers and stole the Divine Light (an object of enormous power) to deliver it to Cryotek.

In "Disclosure" the surviving Dinobots Terranotron, T-Wrecks, Triceradon and Dinotron join Devcon, who is hunting Cryotek.[1]

According to the script for the unreleased issue #4 of Transformers: Universe - The Wreckers Devcon and the Dinobots returned to Cybertron where they helped repel the invasion by the Quintessons.

Dreamwave Productions

Devcon had a brief cameo in Dreamwave's second Generation 1 miniseries, acting as part of Springer's resistance movement to Shockwave.

Fun Publications

Devcon was also featured in the comic story Transformers: Hoist the Flag! for BotCon 2014, where he was expelled from the Wreckers for brutal interrogation tactics. He was then recruited by Ginrai to join the Knights of Cybertron, something that led to an argument between his new commander and his previous one, Primal Prime.

Film

Devcon had been stationed on the Moon until Sentinel Prime activated a space bridge to Earth. Heeding the call of Megatron, he joined the Decepticon beachhead in Washington, D.C.. During the invasion of Chicago, Devcon participated in the initial strike and contributed to the mayhem. During the Autobots' attack on this Decepticon stronghold, he was one of the many Decepticons who fired upon the retreating Autobots. When the tide began to turn in the Autobots' favor, however, the behemoth met his end as he tried to hold a bridge. The Wreckers piled onto Devcon, shooting him in the head multiple times until he fell to the ground dead.
