The Nickerson Family Association is a non-profit organization located on Cape Cod in Chatham, Massachusetts that preserves genealogical and other historical information on the Nickerson family name and the descendants of William and Anne (Busby) Nickerson.

Overview

The Association's main goal is research and preservation of Nickerson genealogical information. It maintains an extensive collection of records and memorabilia from over 100 years of research, as well as other Cape Cod historical and genealogical information.[1]

The Nickerson Family Association is headquartered in Chatham, Massachusetts at 1107 Orleans Road. The Association maintains two buildings: (1) the NFA Genealogical Center and (2) the Caleb Nickerson House Museum. The buildings are located on the site of the original homestead of William and Anne (Busby) Nickerson, the first English settlers of Chatham in the mid 17th Century.

The Association was founded in 1897 by William Emery Nickerson, one of the owners of the Gillette Company, who became interested in his family's ancestry and started the genealogical research that continues to this day. He also held a reunion that year for Nickerson relatives. This reunion, now called the "Togethering" continues and is held each year on the weekend in September following Labor Day.
