Biography

Bobby Chacko is an established entrepreneur and business executive with 25 years of experience as a transformative leader with a cross-industry focus on progress, equality, and sustainability. Having worked with established brands for household-name companies such as Mars, The Coca-Cola Company, ABInbev, and GE Capital, he has played a major role in impacting businesses in domestic and international markets. Bobby’s previous role involved being the President and CEO of Ocean Spray Inc., a cooperative with $2 billion in global sales. While with the company, he transformed and oversaw the revamp of the 90-year-old business model. Bobby’s success can be attributed to some of his early experiences.[2]

The youngest of 4 siblings, he was born and raised in Nigeria to Indian parents with educator backgrounds. At 15 years of age, Bobby moved to the United States alone on a student college visa. After graduating at 19, his student visa was set to expire leaving him little time to land a job that would sponsor a new work visa.[3] Determined, he walked door to door throughout the Manhattan streets as he cold-called businesses. Finally, that hard work and determination paid off. With little time to spare, he became the youngest employee at Marketing Management Analytics (MMA).[4]

From that very first job up until the present time, Bobby has worked in many different facets of business. From overseeing the merging of companies, innovating an in-store technology group in financial services, pioneering new products, shaping global marketing and innovation strategies for iconic brands, opening-up international markets for fast-emerging category busters, to the transformation and restructuring of divisions and companies for strategic events including strategic acquisitions and divestitures. Each of these experiences shaped and formed Bobby into the strategic and transformational leader he is now. Having worked across 30+ international markets, he has lived in Europe, Latin America, and Africa, affording him a rare globally understanding most C-suite executives only wish they had.[5]

Bobby is known for his infusion of diversity and equality in the workplace. He sets high performance and progressive cultural accountability standards with his leadership team and applies them to himself. Bobby encourages a debate-oriented environment with a strong emphasis on merit and accountability coupled with strategy and execution. Bobby’s extensive volunteer efforts have included support behind local Food Banks, Childhood Health & Education, Habitat for Humanity, and community sustainability efforts.[6]

Bobby has served on the Board of Directors of Ocean Spray, Consumer Brands Association, National Council of Farmer Cooperative, Trustee of GICL, Chamber of Commerce, and many other Organizations. Bobby has a B.S. in Communications and Computer Science from Southern Connecticut State University and has also completed executive education programs at Columbia University in Corporate Finance and GE’s Leadership Development Center in Global M&A. Bobby and his family currently live in Massachusetts.[7][8]
