B'Boom is a fictional character from the Transformers series introduced in 1996. He should not be confused with Apache, who has an identical toy, but is portrayed as a separate character.

Beast Wars

He's one of the Maximals from Beast Wars, and his beast form is a mandrill. His name is a play on the word baboon and his weapons, which make a "boom" sound. He did not appear in the Canadian animated series. [1]

Animated series

B'Boom's stasis pod was among those who were launched into orbit around prehistoric Earth in the Beast Wars series pilot.[2]

Comics

3H Enterprises

Air Hammer, B'Boom and Polar Claw appeared among the Maximals who arrived to help stop Shokaract in the Reaching the Omega Point storyline at BotCon 2000.

IDW Publishing

B'Boom appeared in the 2006 IDW Beast Wars comic series. He was among the Maximal protoforms from the Axalon which was recovered by Magmatron's Predacons and infected with a Predacon shell program. Unbeknownst to Magmatron, his technical expert Razorbeast was a Maximal double-agent and had managed to modify the program so a significant number of those infected emerged as Maximals. After activation B'Boom, Bonecrusher, Optimus Minor, Ramulus, Snarl and Wolfang joined up lead by Razorbeast. B'Boom was initially wary of Razorbeast, who he suspected was a Predacon leading the Maximals into a trap. Ambushed by Magmatron, B'Boom was injured in the battle. After the defeat of Magmatron's Predacons the united group of Maximals awaited rescue from Cybertron.

He appears among the Maximals in the sequel story Beast Wars: The Ascending. In it Armordillo, B'Boom, Bantor, Buzzclaw, Cybershark, Lazorbeak, Manterror, Optimus Minor, Powerpinch, Ramulus, Razorbeast, Retrax, Scuba, Sky Shadow, Spittor, Stinkbomb and Terragator were wounded in battle and left on Earth. Together they fought and defeated the Blendtrons Drancron, Elephaorpha and Rartorarta. Although Razorbeast survived the battle he was infected with Rartorarta's maddening sting and had to be put down by Optimus Minor to stop him from attacking his allies.

B'Boom's profile in the Transformers: Beast Wars Sourcebook describes him as a Triple Changer.
