Anurag Dixit
Anurag Dixit is one of the most popular artists in Indian pop music. He is signed by Universal music & Times music. Several of Anurag’s songs have been hot favourites on MTV and he was featured in ‘MTV Roots’, ‘MTV Indies’ & ‘MTV Just arrived’. He also won the prestigious ‘Hungama –ArtistAloud award’ & ‘Make in India conclave’ award for his best seller albums. Anurag’s songs were nominated for 10 prestigious awards. Anurag is also enjoying international fame as he is featured as the first FL Studio ‘power user’ from India.
Anurag is also the co-founder of Musicology school of music. Having a keen interest in sharing his knowledge & experience, Anurag along with Manisha Dixit founded Musicology in 2003. An award winning singer & music educator Anurag has been educating music students with his ‘Master-classes’ on singing, music performance & music production. His master classes have been conducted at reputed institutes like Full Sail, USA, IIT Kanpur, DPS Noida, Apeejay Noida etc. Anurag has also written the best-seller book “Get on the stage”, a master program for launching a successful singing career. Based on decades of experience as a music educator, Anurag has designed a ‘music curriculum’ which is being conducted at reputed schools all across India.
A singer-songwriter-composer all rolled into one, Anurag started making music for TV channels at a very young age. He composed and performed music for TV series ‘Campus’, ‘Career dot com’ etc. He was also performing all across the country. At the same time he was working on his solo debut album ‘Sounds Gr8!!’. The album was produced by legendary music producer & engineer Ashish Manchanda. Some of the most influential musicians like Ranjit Barot & Abhijit Nalani played on this album. ‘Sounds Gr8!!’ was released by Times music and it became a ‘best-seller’ album within a couple of weeks. MTV specially featured Anurag and his album in a special show called ‘MTV Roots’. For this album, Anurag was nominated several times for Hungama-Artist Aloud awards. Anurag also toured across India for his live shows. Along with Shaan, Neha Kakkad, Sonu Kakkad, Neha Bhasin etc. Anurag performed at the ‘Music Day’ organized by ‘Hungama-Atist Aloud’. Since ‘Sounds Gr8!!’ Anurag has enjoyed mainstream music success with his best-seller albums released on various music labels. His next album ‘Laakhon Aasman’ came out on Universal music & Crescendo music. This album enjoyed much greater success. Several songs like ‘Khatti Meethi’, ‘Khalbali’, ‘Laakhon Aasman’, ‘Tumhe bhool na payenge’ etc were huge hits and also enjoyed MTV airplay. Anurag won ‘Best Male singer’ award for this album in the prestigious ‘Hungama-Artist Aloud Awards’. He also won ‘Make in India’ conclave awards for ‘Laakhon Aasman’.
Apart from albums, Anurag has released several ‘singles’ which have all received millions of views on popular platforms like instagram & youtube etc. . Written, composed & sung by Anurag, ‘Tum’ and ‘Tumhe dekha toh’ were the first two singles which crossed over a million views on youtube. Other popular singles by Anurag are ‘Ek Nazar’, ‘Dheere dheere’, ‘Haan Kariye, Na Kariye’, ‘O Yaara’ etc.
Anurag’s parents are Dr. Pramod Kumar Dixit & Mrs. Manju Dixit who have always been very supportive in his musical journey. When Anurag was 5 years old, his grandfather Mr. Laxmi Niwas Dixit taught him the basics of music at home. As a teenager when Anurag was stepping into the world of professional music, his brother Anupam Dixit supported him with all the technical know-how’s of music recording & mixing. Anupam not only educated Anurag in all the technical aspects of music but he also recorded and mixed all the songs Anurag was composing at that time. Anurag is married to Manisha Dixit who has been a great source of strength for him. Apart from being co-founder of Musicology, Manisha has been managing Anurag’s musical work as well.
Currently, Anurag is recording new music for his next projects. He is also preparing a whole new generation of young musicians at his internationally renowned music institute ‘Anurag Dixit’s Musicology’. Since 2003, Anurag and Manisha have trained over 30,000 students at Musicology. Several of their students are now working as MTV artists, industry professionals and music teachers all across the globe.
