Alana Kindree
Alana Kindree is a fashion model and was formerly Miss Toronto Tourism in 2010.[1][2]
In 2013 accounts emerged that Ms Kindree was part of the entourage of a highly inebriated Mayor Rob Ford during the celebration of St Patrick's Day 2012.[3][4] Isaac Ransom, one of the mayor's aides would later tell Police investigators he suspected the beautiful young woman who he was introduced to only as "Alana" was a "prostitute or escort". John Semley, writing in Now magazine would assert that it was understandable how a beauty queen could have met the mayor, making her presence in his entourage explainable without implying she worked in the sex trade.[5]
Ford would go on record, asserting Kindree was a friend, not a prostitute.[6] Kindree's parents would also insist she didn't work in the sex trade.
At the time of the events Kindree was an environmental studies student, at York University. She had previously studied environmental studies at the University of Waterloo.
More recently Kindree has become a correspondent for the Cannabis Life Network, interviewing various cannabis activists, including Marc Emory, Canada's "Prince of Pot."
