Abdul Rauf Zakir

Abdul Rauf Zakir is a citizen of Afghanistan who is reported to be a senior leader in the militant network usually known as the Haqqani network.[1] He is one of the individual for whom the USA as offered a bounty.

According to the US State Department's Rewards for Justice program he is the Haqqani network's Chief of Suicide Operations.[2][3] The bounty offered for information about him was increased to $5 million USD on September 19, 2012.

The Rewards for Justice biography said he emerged to join the Haqqani Network in 2008.[2] They report that he offered to help the network expand its operations into more norther regions of Afghanistan.

He was classified as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist The U.S. Department of State designated Abdul Rauf Zakir a Specially Designated Global Terrorist under Executive Order 13224 on November 5, 2012.
