Yiannis Sarantitis (born February 4, 1972) is a Greek businessman and lawyer, active in the field of shipping and real estate, and also a Honorary Consul of Norway in Greece.[1][2]

Personal life

Yiannis Sarantitis was born in Athens on February 4, 1972. He was educated at the University of Buckingham, LBB, University of Athens – degree of Law.[3]

He is married to Malvina Sarantitis, and they have a son and a daughter.[4]

Career

He had a business activity in the Telecommunications sector. He had a joint venture with Telenor (Norway’s Telecom Giant) in the Balkan region. He was a member of BoD of Promonte GSM (in the 1990’s), as well as a member of BoD of Cosmote Mobile Telecommunications (2000-2008)[5]. He was also involved in the Shipping Cruise Industry, and was a member of BoD of Festival Cruises (2000-2004), as well as the Banking sector, as a shareholder and member of BoD of First Business Bank (2001-2007).[6][7]

In 2003, he founded W Marine Inc, a shipping company, which now operates a fleet of 10 dry bulk carrier vessels, mostly Post-Panamaxes and Kamsarmaxes.[8][9] From 2004-2017 he was the Managing Partner of Sarantitis Law Firm (a major Greek Law Firm), and is currently the major stake holder.[10]

In 2005, he founded W Real Estate Investments S.A., a property holding company with diversified commercial and touristic assets.[11][12]

He was also the benefactor of the construction of AEK Agia Sophia Stadium in December 2018.[13]
