William Willis was a military captain and possibly lieutenant in the 13th light dragoons. He had a son John Walpole Willis whom grew on to be an extreamly influencial founder of Melbourne. He served for the British Empire in the 18th century (1700s). He had Joseph Willis as his father and his well connected mother Elizabeth Downs. His brother was John Willis.
