WikiAlpha is an open encyclopedia, journal and news source. Unlike Wikipedia, WikiAlpha has no notability requirements, and accepts articles on all topics which are legal including news, humour, internet phenomena, websites, blogs, and projects. In addition, original research, which is fundamentally forbidden from Wikipedia, is permitted on WikiAlpha.

As such, WikiAlpha's deletion criteria is also quite simpler than Wikipedia's. Basically, any content that does not meet the criteria for speedy deletion is likely to remain on the site forever.

As an example, an article on the online gaming term ganking was deleted from Wikipedia for being a neologism with a few independent sources, but an article on the same subject exists on WikiAlpha without controversy.

Although WikiAlpha does not have requirements for notability, sources are still required, otherwise material may be challenged and/or removed by other editors.
