When the Lights Go Out is Carys Bray's third novel.[1][2][3]

The book's heroine, Emma, takes practical measures to cope with climate change, like cooking vegetarian meals for her family's meals, in her own kitchen.[3][2] Her husband is paralyzed with fear of climate change, and this difference tears her family apart.
