Victor Hugo Gómez Vasquez is alleged to be a senior member of the Gulf Cartel.[1] Dominican Republic prosecutors suspect he was the mastermind behind the shooting of David Ortiz of the Boston Red Sox.[2] Ortiz was visiting his friend Sixto David Fernandez, they were visiting the Dial Bar and Lounge, in Santo Domingo, a bar where Fernandez was a regular.
