Vain Train is a fictional character from the GoBots series. He is an evil Renegade GoBot who turns into a train.

GoBots

Vain Train based on a Machine Robo character who was never adapted into the GoBots line, and therefore only exists in fiction and as a repurposed Machine Robo toy.

Vain Train has the same alternate mode as the Transformers Autobot character Yukikaze.

Comics

Vain Train was one of a six-bot crew returning to GoBotron after a lengthy scouting expedition, one launched shortly after the GoBot conversion process was implemented. Scorp and Crain Brain, flying in Space Hawk interceptors, observed them and Cy-Kill was able to capture the crew, though one escaped. The Renegades learned about a strategically important planet they had discovered, as well as Vain Train's strained relationship with his elder brother. Cy-Kill used his mind-control abilities to exacerbate his brother's worst tendencies, thus pushing Vain Train into the Renegade camp.

Vain Train and the similarly manipulated Decker Decker battled against their crew when Leader-1 showed up to rescue the scouts. The new Renegades lost, and the crew got away with their ship.

Vain Train was one of several Renegades to enter the communication moon of GoBotron after Fitor stole it with an astro-beam. An injured Leader-1 took them out one-by-one. Vain Train got frozen by the moon's cooling system.

Vain Train was featured in the 2016 Ask Vector Prime story Echoes and Fragments, set during the events of The Transformers: The Movie. The manipulations of the evil Gong and Sideways resulted in various GoBots swapping places with characters during the events of that film.[1]
