iGear

UFO is an homage to the 1985 Transformers Autobot character Cosmos created by iGear. He shares the same basic altnrate mode, color and tech spec numbers as the Generation 1 and Universe Cosmos toys.

According to his tech spec numbers UFO is incredibly fast and skilled, as well as being smart and brave. He is not very strong.

Development

In December of 2011 iGear posted a promotional image of UFO on their Facebook page.[1]

In February of 2012 iGear posted in-hand toy images of UFO on their Facebook page.[2]

Preorders for Hench and UFO went up in April of 2012.[3]

Reception

The WTF@TFW podcast for March 30th, 2012 selected a picture of UFO as one of the New Picture Picks.[4]

Fictional biography

Being responsible for 100% of space reconnaissance for Faith Leader can be a tiring job, and UFO doesn’t have the patience for it.

Easily distracted by his big imagination, UFO sees himself as a fearless space explorer, and wanders far from his mission brief towards alien planets where he is often spotted by locals, hence his name.

If he encountered any enemies on these runs he might be concerned to realize his weapon is actually just a kids toy given to him as a joke.
