Trisha Paravas is an American fashion executive, entrepreneur, and CEO based in New York City, United States. She is best known as the founder of Fashion Week Inc.[1][2][3][4][5]

As an adolescent, Paravas created her first entrepreneurial startup by developing a textile company, which she successfully exited by selling to a major competitor. Subsequently, Paravas, on full scholarship, acquired an MBA in business and marketing. After graduation, Paravas, worked in the financial industry on Wall Street in numerous management roles for over a decade, specializing in various financial products, with focus on the Dodd-Frank Act and U. S. Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) violations.

Career

In 2013, Trisha Paravas founded Fashion Week Inc. in New York to produce fashion shows after realizing the current state of fashion shows during fashion week in New York were invitation-only, and designed solely for industry professionals and media with no access to consumers. According to Paravas, Fashion Week Inc. is in the business of “extending the exclusive runway show access to the consumers, building connections between fashion designers and clientele.”

Fashion Week Inc. hosts bi-annual February and September consumer fashion shows with the first of these shows having launched in 2012. Initially, these shows were produced and marketed during December and Summer as part of market test. Following the success of the first slate of shows, Paravas realized she had a hit concept on her hands. Noting the increasing interest in them by consumers, fashion designers, and sponsors, the savvy business executive marketed the shows to notable fashion designers, sponsors, and created a niche market in the consumer fashion shows arena in New York capitalizing on the strong market demand and high yield segment. Among Fashion Week Inc.’s notable sponsors are J.P. Morgan Chase, Ritz-Carlton, and Dr. Pepper.[6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13]

Fashion Week Inc. produces fashion shows where fashion designers display their latest collections for the season during fashion week in New York. Fashion Week Inc.’s shows are consumer shows only, and offer tickets to runway fashion shows where fashion designers display ready-to-wear Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer collections. Consumers can readily purchase the new collections from fashion designers directly. In addition, Fashion Week Inc. provides an exclusive opportunity to meet the fashion designers. Each runway show features a new set of designers, ensuring all of its runway fashion shows are one of a kind.

Paravas and Fashion Week Inc. have continued to produce and present shows bi-annually, serving an ever-increasing clientele and attracting growing media attention and corporate sponsorships.[14][15][16][17][18]
