Tough Trailer is a fictional character from the Machine Robo series introduced in 1986. He is a heroic Battle Clan member who turns into a semi-truck.

Machine Robo

Tough Trailer is a heroic member of the Battle Clan who turns into a semi-truck. Tough Trailer is 16 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 6.3 tons. He can drive at 500 kph. Because of his mechanoid nature Tough Trailer does not need to breath oxygen and is resistant to cold, but is vulnerable to intense magnetic fields. His weapons include a Neutron Beam rifle, Giant Cannon and Particle Beam Cannons.

Tough Trailer has an older brother named Pro Truck Racer. He sometimes works with Big Trailer Robo.

Development

Action Toys Tough Trailer was released in November 2020.

Animated series

Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos

Three trucks looking like Tough Trailer were seen helping with the evacuation of the city near the volcano in Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos episode 23, "The Burning Skies".[1]

Tough Trailer and his convoy of refugees lead by Rom Stol arrived at Yamalin City in episode 24, "Gather All Machine Robo".[2]

Tough Trailer and Big Trailer Robo in episode 28, "Tough Trailer - 10 Seconds to Detonation"

In episode 28, "Tough Trailer - 10 Seconds to Detonation", Gandora forces attacked the Yamalin City computer center by sneaking inside the city in Tough Trailer's trailer.[3]

Tough Trailer appeared in episode 29, "Escape From the Underground - Pro Truck Racer Appears!".[4]

In episode 30 "Spew Fire, Big Blaze Cannon" Pro Truck Racer, Rod Drill, Tough Trailer and Reina Stol were trapped behind enemy lines.

In episode 31, "The Curse of the Demon Sword Medusa", Battle Robo and Skyline Robo retreated into the desert after a fight. The pair were ambushed by Devilrock and Doublerock, but were saved by Tough Trailer.

Tough Trailer appeared in episode 34, "Vikung-Fu Disappears In Space".[5]

Bike Robo and Tough Trailer trained Steam Robo, Porsche Robo, Supercar Robo and Cessna Robo for combat. Bike Robo, Harley Robo and Tough Trailer were among the reinforcements Blue Jet brought in to help save Rubyman from the Gandora in episode 35, "The Secret of the Jewel People".[6]

In episode 36, "Cannon Fury - Save Amberman", Amberman summoned Rockdon, which it outclassed the smaller mechanoids in combat until it was matched in power by the combined might of the brothers Pro Truck Racer and Tough Trailer.[7]

Pro Truck Racer and Tough Trailer attended the Battle Base ceremony when the new Land Commander 5 team is revealed in episode 37, "Critical Moment - Land Commander 5".[8]

Pro Truck Racer and Tough Trailer attended a meeting by Kendo Robo in the Battle Base when Rom's group planned to get the Wheelmen to transport an explosive for them in episode 39, "Full Power Wheel Man".[9]

Tough Trailer appeared in episode 40, "Secret Valley of the Fossil Men".[10]

In episode 41, "Power Riser - Break Through the Enemy" when Rom attempted to leave in his Power Riser suit to take on the Gandora he was joined by many of his allies, including Bike Robo, Blue Jet, Kenpo Robo, Pro Truck Racer Reina, Rod Drill, Tough Trailer and Triple Jim.[11]

Tough Trailer appeared episode 42, "Vikung-Fu - Cry of Anger!".[12]

Tough Trailer appeared in episode 43, "Mighty Fortress, Heavenly Sword - Jet Don't Die!".[13]

In episode 44, "Cronos' Last Battle", Tough Trailer tried to persuade Diondora to come with them as they escaped Gades, but she ignored him staying behind and pleading with Gades for forgiveness. Pro Truck Racer and Tough Trailer were among those who left planet Chronos in ships at the end of the series.[14]

Note: Tough Trailer voice actor Katsumi Suzuki has also played the Japanese voices of Generation 1 Transformers Rumble, Streak and Wheeljack.

Machine Robo: The Running Battle Hackers

Tough Trailer appeared in Machine Robo: The Running Battle Hackers episode 1, "Burning Electronic Planet".[15]

Tough Trailer appeared in episode 2, "Jet Riser - Emergency Departure".[16]
