Thor (Marvel Comics)
Thor is a fictional character and super hero in Marvel Comics stories.
Fictional biography
Descended from Norse gods, Thor nearly started a war by violating a truce with his family's ancient enemy --the Frost Giants. Odin, his father, banished the young god of thunder to Earth without his memory, to teach Thor how to behave as a mere mortal. After a decade as an earthly doctor, Donald Blake was drawn to Norway, and a subsequent encounter with a race of warmongering aliens. While hiding out in a cave, Blake found a mysterious wooden cane that turned out to be the enchanted hammer Mjolnir -- which transformed him back into the mighty Thor. He drove off the alien invaders and took his place with the Avengers. Shaking off the Blake persona, Thor was soon forced to assume the human identity of EMS technician Jake Olsen. Thor is forever torn between his divine home -- the hallowed halls of Asgard -- and the troubled lands of his adopted home, Earth.

Once it was established that Bruce Banner's mind was in control of the Hulk's body, the Hulk was treated to a celebration in New York City where he received a presidential pardon from Ronald Reagan, the key to the city, and praise from a number of superheroes, including Thor.[1]
Thor was among the superhumans who were invited to take on the Champion of the Universe in a fighting contest at Madison Square Garden. Sadly Thor was disqualified for using his hammer illegally in the combat.[2]
Thor was among the members of the Avengers who were captured by Morgan Le Fay and mind controlled into becoming her personal guard, the Queen's Vengeance. While briefly under her control he went by the name Donar the Mighty.[3]
Thor resigned his active status as an Avenger when he was asked to apologize to news reporters for breaking their camera.[4]
Thor was among the reserve Avengers who responded to Quasar's call for assistance in investigating the destruction of a Rigelian outpost world. He traveled with Photon and Moondragon to the outpost world and met up with Tigra and Starfox, where they found the only survivor to be the wounded Jack of Hearts. Together they fought a Servator of the Infinities.[5]
He was among the heroes incapacitated by Graviton when he attempted to take over the Earth once again.[6]
